What is Brazilian Zouk?
Zouk is a partner dance that originated in Brazil and was first danced to Caribbean Zouk music.
Known for its flowing movements and deep connection, it has evolved into one of the most expressive partner dances in the world.
Today, Brazilian Zouk is danced around the world to a wide variety of music—from R&B and pop to electronic and traditional Zouk rhythms.
It's an amazing way to connect with music and people, creating moments of pure expression and partnership on the dance floor.
From its signature head movements to its emphasis on flow and connection, Brazilian Zouk offers dancers a uniquely expressive way to experience music.
The dance emphasizes body movement, musicality, and connection between partners.
As a fusion-based dance, you'll see elements of Zouk movement show up in other styles like Bachata. This makes it very rewarding to learn for dancers of other styles.

What you'll learn
Over 4 weeks, you'll develop:
-
The basic step and how to stay on rhythm - Sounds simple, but this is literally the foundation of everything else in Zouk.
-
How Zouk movement is different - Learn "flow" and "connection"
-
Partner connection skills - Learn to lead or follow with clarity
-
How to enjoy a Zouk social - Walking into Zouk Vibes and actually dancing instead of watching from the sidelines.
-
Why this transfers to other dances - The body awareness you develop here makes Bachata, Kizomba, and Salsa easier to learn.
No partner required. We rotate throughout class (it's actually better for learning.)
* Includes practica sessions and access to Vibes Social at DLC
